History
Recommencement with a sense of proportion
From 1977 to 1987 Schloss Reinbek was restored in an exemplary way. City council and county representatives developed a concept focusing on the use of the castle by the populaton, filling it with life again. They won over the outstanding architect Horst v. Bassewitz whose analytical expertise and sense of proportion allowed the castle to be restored to its original state while adequately considering the advantages of modern technology.
During restoration the beautiful, massive wooden ceilings were discovered which had been covered some 200 years ago and noone had been able to remember.
